Sirius turned around to walk beside James as he caught up to him and nudged him again. James shook his head slightly and put the book down on the shelf before running to catch up with Sirius. “It’s so difficult being the most articulate mastermind” Sirius said, a slight laugh breaking out in his voice as he continued to walk backwards. “I’m offended Potter,” Sirius said, sniffing and clutching his hand to his chest. Sirius backed up slightly as James turned around laughing, with the book in his hands. “You mean when he realizes that I’ve done it?” James countered, a laugh still in his voice as he nudged Sirius playfully. “Merlin, I can't wait to see the look on Peter's face when he sees that we’ve done it,” Sirius said and James laughed. Sirius grinned and nudged James with his shoulder. There where a few words that were trying to poke through, however it was nearly perfect. “I think so- I mean it’s not perfect but it’s most certainly progress,” James whispered, moving the book slightly to the side to show Sirius the blank pages. Either way it still led to a lot of jokes. But luckily throughout the years Sirius had figured that his size only gave him certain advantages. It had always bothered him especially in situations like these where he had to move out of the way just to see what was going on. James had always been taller than Sirius -all of the Marauders were. “What- Did you figure it out?” Sirius mumbled excitedly as he stopped next to him and looked over at the book that was in the taller bloke’s hands. Norris.Īt his name Sirius grinned slightly and tucked the book he was holding to his side as he ran over to James a few rows down. “Sirius!” It was James, they were the only two in this section of the library but even then the two of them couldn’t help but whisper due to the fact of Mrs. At first glance this may have seemed impossible much like Peter had thought, however they might as well have tried- Right? This ended with the wonderful idea of trying to find a way to cancel the next week of classes.

Currently they were getting closer and closer to Christmas break, which of course meant that exams were coming up. Although it wasn't his preferred activity this would have to be an excuse.

Sirius was quite proud of this specific idea that was causing them to be in the library. By this point even the first years understood what the dark and silent nights meant, Mischief. The castle was dark that night, which of course led to the marauder’s favourite pastime.
